The area of Charters Towers has a long and rich history surrounding the Gold Rush that is worth exploring. One of the sites that has gathered the most interest is the Venus Gold Battery and the processing of the gold during the Gold Rush of the 1800s.
The guided tour is run for an hour and 15 minutes and also includes two presentation explaining the milling ore and the ghosts of the battery.
